| | tiny beech leaf fungus and friends grateful for any help with this tiny on beech leaf.
and is this pale stagshorn, growing on fallen pine?
and this on cow dung, the smaller ones clearly have long hairs on the rim, so Cheilymenia stercoria?
and a couple of slimes for fun, I like the fried egg of fuligo septica.
cheers

| | | Re: tiny beech leaf fungus and friends Hi Ken,
Haven't a clue on the first one (How did you manage to spot that one in the first place ).
I'd be tempted to go for something like Ceratiomyxa fructiculosa for the second, rather than Pale Stagshorn - C.pallidospathulata.
I'll leave the third one to those who know what they're talking about.
Regards,
Mike. |

it is indeed - possibly Typhula setipes - but it's a microscope job I'm afraid
as is the putative Cheilymenia - I'm assuming that there are marginal hairs there, not anchoring hyphae
best

| | | Re: tiny beech leaf fungus and friends Thanks a lot guys, thats grand.
They are hairs Chris, not hyphae, even so, only genus is a fair bet..........but thats OK for now with me.
Interesting point Mike, i'll do a bit more thinking on that, it wasnt like C fructiculosa when I've seen it before, but maybe some variation would explain it, and even a better pic to be clearer ...............now to the new camera thread, ta!
Cheers
