| | | Fungi for ID Please Hi there
There seems to be a profusion of fungi where I live (High Peak) could anyone help with or confirm ID for the following? Pictures 2 and 3 are different views of the same specimen
Many thanks! |

I shall be a bit tentative here . . . .
1. close to Entoloma porphyrophaeum
2. Boletus luridiformis?
3. I'd like a better view - this is a little blurred / over-exposed (sorry!)
cheers
Chris

| | | Re: Fungi for ID Please Chris may well be right in the first being an Entoloma as the gills do appear to be turning pinkish. The gills are a bit over exposed though so I can't quite make them out clearly enough, colour or attachment. My first impression (at thumbnail size) was of Dermoloma though, with the rather fragile cap, but at closer look the stem looks a bit too dark for that, and gills a bit too close. |

The colour and texture of the cap cuticle and strong contrast with the white gills suggest Dermoloma but the coloured stem raises a doubt. A spore print would have been the only way to take it further.
