| | | Lost cause? Not a great set of photos I know, but I'm hoping someone will be able to ID it. I'm convinced it's an Amanita, because of the velar remnants on the cap. Growing out of the muddy edge of a path in mixed woodland. The base had been squished, so couldn't clearly see a volva. Those snakeskin marks on the stipe must be a help. I'm wondering about A. submembranacea, although the cap was grey rather than greenish. Spores are globose, that's the best picture I can get with my USB camera.
Any ideas? |

the spores certainly look Amanita-like; I'll leave it to those who know more about the genus than I to take it further . . . . things must be pretty thin on the ground in Brocsmanville if you're giving valuable microscope time to this
good luck!
cheers
Chris

Chris | Thin on the ground? A new Amanita would be the most exciting thing to happen to Shropshire since Stella Gibbons! Of course that's only my view... | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
