| | | Massive boletus radicans (I think) I couldn't quite believe my eyes this morning when I saw this from a distance, I wasn't even sure if it was real as it was so large, it measures 230mm accross the cap, OK so in the other direction it is only 200mm accross. Stem is 60mm and overall height is 150mm. Smells very spicy, and the pores bruise blue when handled, found under Oak on the edge of woodland. I don't usually include myself in the pictures but I was so chuffed when I arrived back from my walk today that my wife took a picture.....    
Even if my ID isn't right I don't care this is still highlight of my mycology career.... even more than usual praise and congratulations accepted..... thanks as always Stewart. |
