can anyone help with/confirm id please

found these on two very rotton old logs right at the edge of a mixed forrest. logs were covered in moss and hundreds of these tiny little fungi. caps on the biggest are no more than 10mm dia. from reference sources my best guess is mycena speria. am i correct this time or can somone who knows please id. many thanks the naturelover

doubtless someone more knowledgeable than myself will correct me, but i think you've stumbled across Coprinus disseminatus or 'the trouping crumble cap' .

if you had taken one home and done a spore print you would have got dark spores - that would have knocked Mycena - and a lot of other genera - out of the picture immediately - it's always worth trying these preliminary checks . . . and pretty soon you'll be suggesting and not guessing

many thanks gents. sorry chris but i'm only an old townie dont even know how to make a spore print. I just pickie the blighters and then spend hours trawling through reference material on the net and in books. this is why i became a member of this site. and i realy realy appreciate the friendly help that i have recieved. not just with fungi but with all the stuff i have asked for id help. regards enjoy the evening.
