| | twiggy things and peziza these three from today, under alder/willow, in thick rotting damp bramble.
Grateful for any help/advice!
this appears to be peziza granulosa................on its own, with strong granular outside.
this appears similar to marasmius ramealis.
and this one appears similar to mycena vitilis, but its really got me beat!

did you collect the Peziza? I always check them microscopically - been fooled too many times Marasmius ramealis looks OK
I don't think the third one is a Mycena . . . . looks more like a Tubaria . . . . spore print / colour?
cheers
Chris
phew - I'm getting agaricked-out today . . . . time for a glass of wine PS - first dead damp meadowsweet stem I picked up yesterday . . . . covered in Crocicreas cyathoideum

| | | Re: twiggy things and peziza Hello,
I'd bet the first one is Tarzetta cupularis and not a Peziza.
2nd Marasmiellus ramealis o.k., and the 3rd one might be the same. Though looking darker, I'm not sure whether it is a brown spored one. The stipe at least looks perfectly like Marasmiellus ramealis with the scattered floccules, which I have not seen on Tubarias growing on wood. Nevertheless Tubaria seems another alternative, also Flammulaster.
best regards,
Andreas

best regards,
Andreas | Thanks Andreas, thats another new to me - it certainly looks right from checking a number of past posts and web images (although they're not always right either!) the flask shape and overall appearance, habitat etc, without microscopy, seem good.
The third could be a stage of ramealis, but seemed a little downy on the cap, but could well be at a different stage, so I'll keep an eye on them to check.
Still looking Chris...........................it will happen.
Thanks a lot everyone.
Ken
