| | | Unusual colour After the resent rain I thought there might be a few bits about, and there were
Fuligo septica but hardly worth an entry in the new Myxo thread. Boletus badius, Leccinum versipelli, Lachnum, Collybia ocior and others but then this one
Very pale almost white when in situ with a long root, under Beech and Spruce.
The cheilocystidia capped with something so I knew what it was but totally the wrong colour. Then a quick reread of FOS and FN both saying it can rarely appear in almost white version.
Strobilurus esculenta, not particularly rare but a form I have never seen before.

| | | Re: Unusual colour i found a patch of around 30 of these at the end of march in a small spruce plantation, among cones and needle litter, and four or five of them were a dirty white shade and not the usual brown, at the time i thought they were a different species, but as the others are supposedly found on pine cones i assumed them to be the same thing,
