| | | Fungus with small cap for ID please .. I found these today in mixed woodland at the base of a birch. There were a couple of groups. They are all around 3cm tall with the caps varying at approx 5-10 mm across.
Hopefully enough information for genus - sheer speculation at cortinarius.

these look like an abnormally-developed Laccaria species; thick, pinkish, well-spaced gills would immediately eliminate Cortinarius
