| | | Help with ID please, Small group of fungi on the south downs I found these middle of May 2010 just on the edge of a field on the south downs under a small group of hawthorn trees, have had a good look through my books and have no idea what they might be, to give an idea of dimensions smallest cap was 5mm, largest around 20mm, clearly white spores.... any ideas would be appreciated

| | | Re: Help with ID please, Small group of fungi on the south downs It looks like Velvet Shank ( Flammulina velutipes) to me. Was it growing off buried wood? It is mainly a winter species, but it was rather cold in May
