| | | Re: Help with ID please Spores are very dark brown, almost black. This is my best shot of them. If I've calibrated my microscope right they are about 6.5 X 4 microns. (I haven't got the hang of this microscope business at all yet). |

There can be quite some variability in robustness of stems etc. with these species and other species of mushroom types, generally linked with water uptake. Size in fact can be a little misleading at times, it has certainly caught me out a few times.

I'll know next time. | And then you'll come across Psathyrella prona or similar and be thrown by the delicate size of the fungus ... I found quite a few P prona yesterday, and didn't at first recognise tham as a Psathyrella as I'm more familar with P griseospadicea  .
As you have a microscope try looking at the cheilocystidia and pleurocystidia - P griseospadicea should have some pleurocystidia with forked ends.
