These look very familiar .... but they aren't
Xylaria hypoxylon as these have basidia ...
Found on very wet branches in a log jam in a stream, very probably sycamore. (I pulled the branch in the first one onto the bank as I didn't have wellies. Second one taken in situ.)
Basidia are single spored.

Spores hyaline, pip shaped, 6.9-8.6 x 4.2-4.9um, qav=1.7
I'm sure I ought to know what these are.
