Couldnt take any photos in situ as didnt have my camera. |

| | | Re: ID please They do look like typical St Georges Mushrooms, However, I am not saying they are. I always check all the microscopic details if I want to be absolutely certain.

They should have a fairly distinctive smell, which I liken to play dough, but hey, smell is subjective in many cases. The good news is, that at this time of year there are very few other mushroom types that you could confuse Calocybe gambosa with. The species that I always warn people of, is Inocybe erubesens, which can occur during late spring but mostly on alkaline soils. This also has reddening flesh and a brown spore print. St George's does not redden and has a white/cream spore print.
