Hi all. I'm currently living in Reading where I'm going to uni and was taking a walk on campus this afternoon when I saw the strangest object on the side of a tree stump. It was a round, white lump about 8 cm across, and I assumed it
was a mushroom so I sort of scuffed at it with my shoe. When I did it turned out that the white part was a very thin skin or film which covered this sort of pink goopy stuff underneath which seemed to make up the majority of the lump.
I've been looking on various fungus and plant ID sites for anything like it but haven't been able to turn anything up--do any of you have any idea what this weirdness could be?
