What fungi are these?

I've made a rare venture into the fungi forums because I saw a few of these the other day and don't know what they are. My initial thought was morel of some sort, but I'm not confident!

They were on sandy stony ground, quite heavily grazed by rabbits) near a former gravel pit (in mid-Lincs). The open patch of ground is surrounded by hedging - mainly hawthorn, sallow, willow, oak.






I didn't pick, cut up or anything so haven't any further information than what's in the pictures, so I don't expect an exact ID; just hoping to get more idea!

When I went back a couple of days later they'd all disappeared.
