| | | id fungi on rotting logs please Hello,
I would appreciate your help with these fungi found growing among a pile of decaying ash logs on the IoW. The first I reckon could be Coprinus micaceus..
..and the second one Trametes versicolor..
Perhaps microscopic examination is required to be sure of the species but do the genera look right?
Thanks for looking,
Rob |

agreed on the former (though you are probably correct in your ID); for the second one I think you're safe there
best
Chris

The pile of logs supporting these fungi is huge and there must be much more to find here - I'm sure I will be asking for your help again,
All the best,
Rob

I'm interested in that 'black stuff' on the log with the Trametes - looks a bit like Helminthosporium velutinum . . .
cheers
Chris
