| | | Fungi ID please? Hi all,
I went out cycling yesterday or the day before.. and I got a barbed-wire-related puncture - anyway, whilst repairing the tyre I noticed some mushrooms - I am hopeless at IDing and so I was wondering if anyone here could ID it for me
I did have a quick look through the fungi identifier here, and I will check in a book later, but I found only Stropharia Coronilla resembled it, - sorry for the bad photos ;( I will get better ones tommorow

| | | Re: Fungi ID please? hi
I can see why you might think Stropharia coronilla, but that should have a pale stipe and a very distinctive, neat 'double-ring' as here:
I should know what this is, but it's eluding me at the minute; the second agaric is Panaeolus semiovatus
cheers
Chris

| | | Re: Fungi ID please? I'm the same Chris, it looks frustratingly familiar! I initially thought Gymnopilus but is that a purple spore drop I can see? Gahhhh! |

| | | Re: Fungi ID please? Yes, thanks for that second ID - very strange shroom and there was loads of it - some of it very big - I think the mushroom was getting a bit old...
And yes, I believe it is a purple spore print |

| | | Re: Fungi ID please? The first one looks rather like a Hypholoma to me given the cortina like webbing at the cap margin and the gill colour. The stem colour is a bit odd. |

Hi Stefan,
Are you sure of the spore print colour? Or could you still manage to obtain a good print?
