Oyster with grey spore print?! Hi guys, I went out and picked some mushrooms similar to Pleurotus ostreatus from four different nearby dead and felled deciduous tree trunks I would have taken pictures in situ , here's a description of one of the clusters I picked: cap colour: brown ochre, a range of cap sizes from about 4cm to 12cm across, seven caps growing from one base. Caps are flattened, definitely not funnel-shaped spore print: grey (although the paper is now very damp possibly since I left a cup of water in with the mushrooms whilst getting a spore print) smell: regular mushroom smell gills: decurrent but difficult to tell whether present all the way down to the base of each mushroom probably due to the age of the mushrooms? Does anyone have any insight? By the way, thanks for all your help so far with identification of the mushrooms I've been unable to identify so far everyone. It really is much appreciated! kind regards, Jack *photo on it's way hopefully* |
