| | Arcyria poss? Another one has me stumped (!) growing on the bark 6' up a thick sapling / stump with moss on either haw or elder or sycamore or willow , this sort of slime mould , closest I can wildly guess is Arcyria leiocarpa, but I have very little confidence in that.
I hope to revisit soon, to confirm substrate and cut through to see if its actually growing on an old bracket, maybe trametes or daedaleopsis.
It seems to have tiny red topped growths on stalks.
Sorry for pic, it was just out of reach for camera stability.
Any help out there please?
Thanks a lot
Ken

No one seems to be jumping at this one.
Your find looks to have a certain similarity with this: - Small White Crust for ID.
Certainly comparing with the edges of the example in my pics. - Although your photo looks to have been taken at closer range/higher magnification.
Unfortunately, as can be seen, my find didn't get very far with identification either, - just not enough info on the pics. (I'm still no nearer with that one 12 months on).
Regards,
Mike. |

| | | Re: Arcyria poss? Hi Mike,
thanks for that response - I must admit I didnt hold out much hope, its a very specialised area I think, but also the image isnt clear enough to be sure of anything really - more in hope than expectation!
Yours has similarities, but to be sure, I suspect we need to get in very close with the camera, then try and see what fits - this link was from last year, I cant remember who originally posted it, but there are some terrific shots in it, hope it helps............... Gallery of Myxomycetes
Cheers
