Lasiosphaeria spermoides?
This was all over a bit of old timber (possibly Ash) that I was cutting up for firewood. Is it L. spermoides?

Hello Steve,

no, it is not. Lasiosphaeria s. would have round balls tightly packed together.
Yours is either a Hypoxylon or a Rosselinia. May be there are more suggestions, but I can think of only these two.
