Question Black Bracket ID please?
Hello - I posted an ID request about this species of fungi before in another thread, then I found some more of them yesterday. Anyone know what they might be?

The attached photographs show three stages I believe; (a) new black growth, about 2.5cm wide; (b) established black bracket forms with oily sheen, some as wide as 20cm; (c) mature and a bit larger with woody/corklike texture, black at the centre (25cm wide).

These were all found on the mossy base of a rotting oak (still standing) in the New Forest.







Can anyone assist?
