Idenification if you will

Hi sorry to start off with this title I am new to this, I did read the 'help us to help you' but I really have no idea!

Can anyone tell me what this fungus is? It was photographed this month (Feb) in the north-west of England if that is any help.

could it be 'Jelly ear' Auricularia auricula-judae

I thought it was some sort of jelly fungus, but didnt think it was jelly ear. I have only seen jelly ear once though and it looked like a proper ear, i thought this looked like something different?

Yes, Squishy is quite right, Jelly Ear comes in all shapes and sizes.

the underside often looks like the inside of an ear, but the usually just looks like a weird reddish splat of jelly.

they're all over the woods around me.
