| | | Unidentified Heathland Species
At the start of December I first discovered this colony of tiny (c.f. rabbit droppings in the photo) specimens on an area of Yateley Common which in 2008 had been cleared of Birch during a heathland reclamation project. I recently revisited the site after the thaw and discovered they were fbs still in situ. Originally I labelled them O. pyxidata but having flitted through book and on-line references concerning Omphalina/Gerronema/Loreleia I am now suitably confused. I appreciate a positive ID is unlikely without more evidence than I have provided so far but, while waiting for confirmation of the dried specimens I have sent away, does anybody have any views to add to the deliberations.
Thanks in anticipation.

I would have named them Omphalina pyxidata too.
best regards,
Andreas
