I am having difficulty in deciding which Pleurotus species I have here?

It has not got the give-away bluish grey or the in-rolled cap edge of P.ostreatus. Would P. pulmonarius fit better?

They are both much the same microscopically, so thats not much use in separating them.

P ostreatus can be both the blue/grey colour you talk about or it can be a pale brown. Your photo doesn't show the distinctive reticulations on the stipe that would confirm P cornucopiae (which can also take on a slightly darker colour than the usual white/cream). P pulmonarius is white/cream/grey and is smaller than the others.

Looks most likely to be P.ostreatus then. There is plenty of typical P.ostratus on the same site.

I've seen these brown ones before and have come to the conclusion they are P.ostreatus.
