bit of advice from a newbie please

hi all,am very new to the mushroom way of life,i know its winter,yet keep looking and finding some specimens that i only thought it my wildest dreams existed.
will post a piccie when i work how?
im not the brightest smartie in the tube!!!!
can any of you enlighten me what to expect growing now!
i think i may have found some velvet shank,jews ear,and a dubious looking bright yellow jews ear (bit curly though).

I would suggest the best advice is to enjoy and don't get to frustrated by what you can't identify with certainty.
You may well have found velvet shank and jews ear (there seems to be plenty appearing now the low temps have left us).
Bright yellow/curly (may be Tremella mesenterica).

What to look out for, well if you look on wet wood lying in wet/boggy ground,
scarlet elf cups (Sarcoscypha austriaca) are starting to appear and you will be as thrilled as everyone else was when finding them for the first time.
Oh and while you are looking for those you are bound to trip over something unexpected.
