| | | 3 fungi IDs from today Can anyone put a name to these please. I'm sorry I don't know what tree they were on. They were found today at Snelsmore Country Park in Berkshire.  This covered most of the trunk of several small trees

No 1. Phlebia radiata.
No 2. Ascocoryne sarcoides OR A.cylichnium. (need a microscope)
No 3. Stereum hirsutum.

picture no. 2 shows the anamorph, hence Coryne dubia = Ascocoryne sarcoides.

Ahhhhh !  I looked at photo No 2. too quickly and convinced myself these were more disc/cup shaped than brain shaped so were the teleomorph and therefor impossible to tell apart without a 'scope.
I am so annoyed with myself because I thought I really understood both A.sarcoides and A. cylichnium by now.
