Sussex foray group

Earlier today a thread from East Sussex was withdrawn by the moderator for proper and understandable reasons. I hope the moderator will forgive me if I extend a copy of my own unrelated comments that were originally attached to that thread.

It is clear from various WAB threads that a number of people living in Sussex have a strong interest in field mycology but lack practical hands-on experience and guidance. The Association of British Fungus Groups has now developed a registered foray group in Sussex that will be looking to expand its ABFG membership in 2010.

The local group will also be running a Sussex-based microscopy workshop in March, and the Association will have a stand at this year's Brighton 'Springwatch' festival on June 6th. If anyone wants to learn more about fungi with a bona fide conservation-orientated foray group and lives in Sussex, it's worth saying hello to us at the stand, or applying to come along to the microscopy workshop (very limited spaces available on this).
