Unsure fungi

Hi Folks

Got a couple of specimens of fungus which I'm not sure about even after looking through the Gallery although I think I may have narrowed it down.

I think this one


is a russula type although I'm not sure exactly which one. I'm afraid I can't give any other clues as to smell or location I'm afraid.

I think this one


could be a blackening waxcap although I could easily be wrong.

Any help would be appreciated.

The first looks like it could be some sort of russula.

The second could be a Blackening waxcap, right colour in the cap before it goes black. I like how the pics are composed "in yer face" if you know what I mean. From the second, I can easily see how they get the common name "Waxcap". What camera gear are you using?

I am using a Nikon Coolpix 4100 on the macro setting which seems to work well when I can get the object in focus

Difficult to tell from the cap alone but of three or four possibilities a strong contender for the first one would be Russula farinipes.
