| | | identification i know i just posted on another thread saying how photos should show all the defining features, but here i am being a bit of a hypocrite, as these photos don't do that! my excuse is that i couldnt actually get any closer as they were over a fence, so i took it with my zoom lens.
anyway here they are, there were about 100 of these growing on woodchip ranging from around 3cm to about 6cm across, other features arent available. not really got any clue as to what these are
help please!!!
cheers

Maybe just maybe a Laccaria sp?
OK that was a bit of a stab in the dark.

| | | Re: identification Hello,
sorry to interrupt, but that are Tubaria (hiemalis probably, if one accepts that species), no Laccaria.
best regards,
Andreas

| | | Re: identification no need to say sorry, i'm inclined to agree. whereas i thought they did look like laccaria, i think this tubaria suggestion is even more likely. it was nice to see them though, i thought the frost would have seen off most mushrooms.

| | | Re: identification I was completely thrown out by that distorted sample to the left of the second photo - very typical for Laccaria spp.
That's 2 wrong for the Xmas week - can't be bad. Third time lucky.
