Hi all,
would this be Cortinarius paleaceus?  
It seems to be the only fungus i can find in my books with the distinctive stem markings.
It stood about 9-10cms high and the cap was 6-7cms wide both measurements are larger than my book suggests tho  it was in mainly pine,im presuming ( if it is Cortinarius paleaceus ) its a bit mature,if you look closely enough there seems to be evidence of a conicle centre to the cap?

I am probably several miles off here but.... it looks rather Armillaria-like to me.

yes, Armillaria. May be cepistipes, but it's impossible to well for sure with only one examplaire.

The other names for gallica are lutea and bulbosa and the stem is too slender in my opinion.
Andreas thought A.cepistipes and that seems more probable.
