| | | Fungi id please
Think the first one is Auricularia auricula-judae growing on plywood.
The other is growing in the border under shrubs. The border has been mulched with bark and fed with compost. The slugs, snails and probably other insects etc seem to find them enjoyable.

| | | Re: Fungi id please you're correct with the first one i think, the second lot could do with a photo of more identifying features (gills, stipe, etc.) though someone may know anyway |

best regards,
Andreas | Thanks Things i spotted from this photo....
The habitat is about right for these.
The spores are of a dark (brown/black/purpley) colour. I can tell this from looking at the deposit from the taller one onto the caps under it.
The cap is wet and viscid - i can see its shiny and lots of bits of grit and dirt are stuck to it.
The caps are the correct colour and shape for a mature and wet Cyanescens.
Also those lines that are visible all along the edges of the caps - moving from cap edge inwards... a common feature visible on these.
There are small glimpses of the gills, admittedly nothing great but just enough to get an idea of the colour. |

| | | Re: Fungi id please Col,
These are becoming more and more frequent on woodchips, so picking them will have no adverse affects at all, so by all means do so, take a photo (which should show some blueing) and post them in.
