| | | paxillus? hi all
my friend bought a few fungi home today. one was a manky old Agaricus full of woodlice, the other was L.saeva and then there was this one.
i'm thinking its Paxillus involutus the characteristics and habitat seem right, all apart from the fact that there's not much inrolling on the margin. doing a spore print now. it could be a Clitocybe but i don't think so. could anyone confirm it?
cheers
tom

or Lactarius turpis (Ugly Milk Cap) |

| | | Re: paxillus? It's P. involutus without a shadow of a doubt; Around the pileus edge, there is a pattern similar to that seen around the edge of Cornish pasties, like a 'pleating'. With this defining characteristic and the decurrent gills, I'm certain it's P. involutus
It's not often I say that c word! |
