Hi, today i was collecting some milk caps in Exeter, Devon when i came across something really strange. I found 3 white mushrooms, i picked one up and i'm convinced that it was st. george's mushroom. It looks exactly the same, it has the same smell and it grow in grass, which is its normal habitat, but the season is just weird. Normally i pick them in spring/early summer.
I know this species quite well and have been picking them since 8 years ago. This is the first time i found them this time of a year.
Can anyone please tell me if st. george's mushrooms can grow in britain so late in autumn or perhaps suggest if there is any look alike species, which has exactly the same odour, habitat and characters.
