Amethyst Deceiver and Candle Snuff fungus

Hi all

Here are a couple from the weekend, it's the first time I've found the Amethyst Deceiver and I was astonished by the colour, I don't think the photo does it justice.

And this Candle Snuff fungus was so well presented I just had to set the camera up for it.

Very nice Bill - I'm always amazed by the colour of Amethyst Deceivers - like the way background shows up the fungus on the Candle Snuff shot.

Two very nice shots there Bill esp the candlesnuff showing out so well against a complimentary background .........

Thanks both, I like the way some fungi present themselves and make it easy to isolate from a distracting background, whereas others, like the Amethyst are much harder or rarer to find in such a position.

Really fab colour, aren't they Bill? Also, next time, take a look at the gills underneath, they are such a deep vivid violet
