A Deadly Fungal Disease

Have any of you fungi-freaks heard of Batrachoch dendrobatidis (BD) It's starting to spread into Europe. It has hit Spain & is killing off all her amphibians. This disease has seen the extinction of the Golden Toad & 2 frogs in Latin America & a number of amphibians in Asia.

Because of CC & GW we may have BD in the UK in 5-10yrs. There goes all our amphibians.

I read today that this devastating fungus arrived in UK with introduced North American Bullfrogs, the latter subsequently exterminated. Apparently our Common Frogs appear to be immune, but people are not so sure about toads- Midwife Toads in Spain have been heavily affected by this fungus. I know there are some colonies of this (introduced) species in mid-England, but I don't know if they've been hit yet.
