Could anyone please give me the full name of this aecia found on a damp stick lying within damp leaf litter. Thanks

I think it is unlikely to be a rust fungus in that position (an aecium is a spore producing structure of a rust fungus). It looks more like a myxomycete to me, after sporulation.
