Unidentified Mushroom
I have seen lots of these mushrooms appear throughout the year from Spring on and off right through to the late Autumn.

They grow around the base of an old dead fallen Willow tree. Unfortunately there is only one left now and it is looking a bit old. The mushroom measures about 6 - 7 inches in height. Sorry I did not get a shot of the gills but seeing as it was the last one though it a shame to knock it down just for id puposes.

I would appreciate an ID if possible as I have looked through my books and can't ID it myself.

I think thsi is Xerula(Oudemansiella) radicata. If you dig one out you should find it has a long root.

Yes, and the wrinkled cap is very distinctive.
