This one's got me stumpped!

Hi guys, this one I found on a dead tree covered in moss, seen Nov 12th 2009, spore print is white, cap is from 4-5mm on small and 20mm on larger ones, the rest you can see from the pictures....

My thoughts so far inculde some kind of Cortinarius, perhaps cortinarius limonius, but reading up it seems this is unlikely as I am in Sussex and this would be very rare, I hope it isn't as I picked a few for samples, which of course I wouldn't with a known rare species, also there is a brown kind of jacket which is coming away in my samples, strange how it seems to break off from the top of the stem in almost a perfect straight line, maybe some type of Tricholoma, perhaps Tricholoma ustale......

this is a Honey Fungus (Armillaria mellea s.l., but not ss.str.), which has suffered from environmental influences.
