Lepista flaccida and Clitocybe gibba

I'm pretty sure this one is Lepista flaccida but what I'd like to know is how to distinguish between that and Clitocybe gibba?

All I can get from my book is that the Lepista has a bit of a furry foot and a slimier cap. These ones didn't have much of a furry foot but then they were sitting in a very damp and muddy hedgerow.

The easy answer is look at the spores

but failing that Clitocybe gibba usually has a small papilla on the cap. On that reckoning you are right with Lepista flaccida.

In the absence of a microscope I will have to look for papilla(e) !

Having had a look at a few pics online (RP photo being a bit inconclusive) I think I can see what you mean, a little lump in the middle of the funnel the whole thing looking a little bit like a belly button.

Thanks very much for the help, now must be on the lookout to find a Clitocybe gibba in real life.
