Unidentified bracket fungus - please help

Unidentified bracket fungus found a couple of months ago during the dry warmer weather. Cannot find reference to it anywhere. Thanks

Try comparing with Rhizina undulata, which is actually an ascomycete rather than a basidiomycete.

Cool! That looks very much like Rhizina undulata. Have not seen that often. Sometimes it is said to occure only on fire places, but that is not true. It can grow as well in recently disturbed spruce or pine forest, just were the foresters have worked. Its certainly a pionier species.
