it could well be Ascotremella faginea. You should confirm microscopically. Ombrophila pura has asci which are J+ and smooth spores, Ascotremella faginea has asci J- and spores with a fine striation (needs a good optic and staining in cotton blue)

I'm afraid I've chucked the fungus now, but in any case I don't think my ancient microscope with its broken condenser would have been up to the job. |

hmmm, broken condensor doesn't sound good ....
But for the amyloidity of the ascus pore in Ombrophila and Asotremella a magnification of 400x is enough, so in this case also lower level equipement would do satisfying enough to separate these two species-
