| | | Gymnopilus question I think this is probably Gymnopilus penetrans on the basis of the largely smooth cap surface, verrucose spores 7.6-9.1µ x 4.9-5.7µ and relatively narrow (3-5µ) hyphae in the outer layers of the pilleipellis. The only thing I'm not sure about is the gill attachment which seem from the top photo to be notched rather than broadly attached as Fungi of Switzerland suggest they should be. Is the gill attachment an important and consistent characteristic, it doesn't seem to feature at all in the descriptions in Funga Nordica?
