Parasol - Macrolepiota Procera?
Group of about 12 found in garden growing ini mixed trees (confers and oak etc).

About 20cms tall, 15 cms across.

Are they Macrolepiota procera? If so, will be having them for breakfast.

Hi

Looks more like Macrolepiota rhacodes to me. M.procera should have snakeskin like markings on the stem. This can be seen very well on the phot on page 4 of the Gallery.

M. rhacodes can cause gastric upsets in some people.

Thanks chaps. Thought that might be the case. Stems are smooth, and I guess cutting the flesh to see colour will be the 'acid test' < see what I did there?
