under birch, maybe lactarius resimus? Will return and test for milk tomorrow if needed, didnt think in the field today.............
then in meadow, coprinus, poss auricomus maybe? quite strong yellowy cap.
then what strikes me as a red calocera spp, but cant find any!
then a reddish slime mould maybe?
finally a hymenoscyphus spp perhaps? dont know the substrate, , but deciduous, perhaps cherry, birch, haw or alder, not a big tree.
Thanks a lot
Cheers
Ken

Can't be certain, but your reddish slime mould loks very similar to this: -
Metatrichia floriformis.

| | | Re: some funny fungi? Interesting Ken, found bolbitius titubans nearby, but these would explain it, being more mature, ta very much, but what about vitellinus?
They were only two and nearby only a singleton, unlike a whole trooping group of titubans last year on wood chippings, lots and lots and werent so yellow when dying off, being quite drab and tan then, not still yellow like these?
Mike, thats a good call, but I had lots of m floriformis last year and they werent as tall, with stems, as these, having said that, some images by fungijohn I think (?) were with stem, mine had no stem......................hmmm!
Thanks a lot guys, interesting thoughts.
Ken
