20+ Fungi From One Tree !! (Part 1)

One of my regular Fungi hunting woods contains a very large Fagus sylvatica, from which several very large branches have either cracked or fully broken away. The main trunk is still standing, and the tree has quite a good canopy of leaves.

Today, I spent an hour trying to photograph each different type of fungus to be found on the tree (including its leaves and fallen branches). I was surprised to get more than twenty different ones very quickly, and there are no doubt several more that I will have missed.

I know quite a few of these, but I would be grateful for ID help on numbers 1 to 4.
Apologies for the quality of some of the pics, but some of the fungi were in locations that couldn't be accessed with the tripod and I struggled with long hand held exposures.

1 and 3 are myxo's

2 is a Mollisia species - probably M. cinerea, but requires 'scoping

4 is Trichoderma viride - the imperfect state of the coral spot relative Hypocrea schweinitzii

I think that M.cinerea is likely be the one on balance of probability. (According to what I've just been reading it's widespread and common).

whoah there Mike!

you can't do that - I would label it Mollisia sp. unless you 'do it' properly;
it's akin to labelling any small brown bird as a house sparrow because it's widespread and common (or common-ish these days)

it is possible that Mollisia cinerea is considered to be "widespread and common" because people have not be looking at it carefully and just assuming it must all be the same thing; it's similar to the situation with Ganoderma - I look at them microscopically every time I record them down to species - if I didn't I would call them Ganoderma sp.

the sadly-absent Andreas would be very disappointed in this attitude - tut tut

I've just done that very thing - (Well, actually, I labelled it Mollisia sp. - likely to be Common Grey Disco, M.cinerea). - I appreciate that I can't "do it properly" without full microscopy facilities, and the appropriate knowledge of what to look for.
