I think number 1 is Stropharia aurantiaca at a late stage.

I agree that the brown capped one looks like Melanoleuca but without a photo of the flesh in the stem it would be difficult to narrow it down to species. In any event, these usually require microscopy.

That's the one, just checked out the Gallery photos of Stropharia aurantiaca and that is just like it. It would be growing on twigs then, rather than soil/leaf litterl

Is there a relationship between that and the LBJ's it was found growing with on five different patches?

I must say I've had some really good finds today, from two beautiful examples of shaggy inkcap, to shaggy parasol and a possible russula atropurpurea (waiting for sporeprint for that), a lovely (pink) lilac bonnet, stump puffballs, fairy inkcaps, and yet more honey fungus, among others. It's amazing what a difference a bit of rain has made.

Still nothing in the pony-grazed grassland though
