| | | Fungi ID ? I know this will be a very common species that I photographed in the New Forest this weekend but I haven't a clue which species it is. Birds, Butterflies, Dragonflies and Damselflies I'm ok with, but fungus......no idea !!!
Regards
Paul
P.S As you'll see I think this will be my first post, although I've been registered for a while. I think I'm known as a 'lurker' |

Welcome to the wonderful world of WAB fungi.
A small fungi growing as a group like this on rotting wood with a yellow stipe is very likely to be Mycena inclinata. If you have been "lurking" for long you will know an awful lot of identifications come with a "would need microscopy to be sure" badge.

Mal | while totally agreeing with Mal's comments re microscopy - I think this fungus is Mycena inclinata - and a nice photo to boot!
best
Chris PS if I was being hypocritcal (actually my normal state those who know me well would say!) this thread should say Fungus ID - just because there are several fruit-bodies it doesn't mean that the organism should be spoken of in the plural . . .
phew! - my pedantry valve has now been released for at least twenty minutes - sorry you had to become a victim!
