Fungi for id's please :)

Here are some of the fungi found on sunday. Iv'e spent hours going through Fungi Gallery here as I still havn't got an id book. The first is the only one I'm sure of ish? Still had a great day hunting!

1. Candlesnuff fungi - Xylaria hypoxylon


2. Common Earthball?

3. Blood Red Webcap?


4. ?


5. ?


Be gratefull for any help, pic's are not great can't get used to new camera!

4 looks like a Psathyrella - I know highly expert mycologists who give these a wide berth!
5 could possibly be over-exposed Hypholoma fasciculare (sulphur tuft)

what is your new camera? . . . . what are the problems?

Really glad I did stick at it, now we can't stop! Had some great days out with my 9 yr old, she's showing a real interest too which is lovely. Another hobby for us.

Was going to ask why expert mycologists give Psathyrella a wide berth but had a quick search and guess it's because of difficulty in id's?

My new camera is just a little fuji finepix j250 thought it was time I updated my trusty old samsung a7. It's so different and came with no manual just a cd that won't upload! I have always used auto mode except for macro shots. I need some serious reading in the photography forums I think.

I found that in dark woods on auto camera kicked in to nightime mode I tried suppressed flash but blurred! And macro mode well I havn't a clue what's happening? Must read manual.

yes those three look fine - I suspect that a 9 year-old girl will prove as useful (from a mycological, if not a commercial, point of view) as a truffle hound

kids seem to get into the whole fungus hunting vibe really easily . . . just make sure that if she finds something interesting you go to her and the fungus has not been reduced to mush in an enthusiastic little hand! - she is effectively a pointer

children love the notion of grown-ups actually coming to see something they have found . . .
