| | | Fungus on Elder for Id This fungus is growing at the base on an Elder, close to a dead Blackthorn and near a lot of Hawthorn.

Thanks. I presume based upon general shape and the strong radial grooves?
It it much chnaged since yesterday such that I would not have know it was the same fungus had I first seen it today. It now looks like
What else do i need for a positive species ID?

| | | Re: Fungus on Elder for Id If you had seen it the day before you would have seen the caps covered in "icing sugar" (the remnants of the universal veil) which is how it gets its name.
