| | | Re: Lots of fungi for ID hi - my initial thoughts are:
1 - Coprinus comatus - shaggy ink-cap + other English names
2 - Parasola species (Coprinus relative) - needs microscopy
3 - Hygrocybe virginea (a waxcap)
4 - Galerina sp. - again microscopy . . .
5 - Psilocybe sp. . . . merdaria or similar - ditto
6 - Psilocybe semilanceata (liberty cap)
best wishes
Chris

| | | Re: Lots of fungi for ID Thanks for the ID's Chris,The only one I had any idea about was the Shaggy Ink-cap,a very easy one for me to remember.Of the other ones, I can see No 2 looks rather like a parasol,so I might get that one next time.I've found Waxcaps before, but this white one is a new one for me. No4 I thought might be another waxcap but I was wrong,no big surprise there The last one seems to be a Magic one and related to the last but one, there were quite a lot of those about.
The different types you can find in a small area is fascinating, thank you for helping , I've got some more if your interested . Barbara |

2nd one looks like an Entoloma, and the bottom one I think is a mature, expanded Stropharia semiglobata

| | | Re: Lots of fungi for ID Thanks once again Chris and Cybershot,I'm really surprised that I can find so many different types quite easily.
I was talking to another woman yesterday who as out walking her dog,she was interested in what I was doing . Today when I met her again she had a book on Fungi and was busily trying to identify all the different ones she could find. She said it was my fault (jokingly) and when I left she was still looking.
Here are a few more from today ,if someone would be kind enough to ID them .Thanks Barbara |
