| | | Oysterling & Slime Mould ID Help Request Can't place this from descriptions & images in my books.
Caps up to about 4cm across. Hasn't really changed in size in the last couple of days.
Originally thought Panellus sp., but this is unlike P.serotinus that I have found in this woodland previously, and doesn't appear to fit any of the others. (I'm presuming that the orange/brown on the gill surfaces is spore mass?)
Unidentified slime mould, originally all white as first image, then changing as per second image. (After this became all black, hard crust with slightly softer interior - unfortunately no photo).
Any pointers towards ID's much appreciated.
Regards,
Mike. |

Your first image looks like Crepidotus applanatus. Not sure about the second one .... but possibly Enteridium lycoperdon

| | | Re: Oysterling & Slime Mould ID Help Request Thanks John & Chris.
With regards to the slime mould, this is the state of the specimen today: -
Would Arcyria species develop in this way? - I thought (perhaps wrongly), that they all developed into the "loofah like" sporangia, which eventually blow away with the wind, leaving little if anything to be seen on the substrate.
